Dramatise your story through narrative structure
This is a full-day session I conduct for UWA Extension which shows, among other things, how the writer can play with time and scene sequence in order to add drama and torque to the story. We also examine some of the rhetorical structures developed by Aristotle and others about a thousand years before the Christian era. Almost every Hollywood film you care to watch is based upon the three-act structure of the ancient Greeks. Maybe they should have stuck to playwriting rather than joining the EU and getting way over their heads in debt and doubtful financial dealings. But that’s another story…
